Pre-Addendum

Before last night's game we the coaches were talking with the Selma coach.  He is a thoughtful man who has survived a brain tumor and has had success.  We got to talking about where former players are now and typical coach/player issues and concerns.

He made the comment, "If you don't have parent/player issues, you aren't coaching.  Coaching is about changing things and telling players and parents what they don't want to hear."

Oh, so true.  After the game I overheard him talking to one of his players and I am sure the player didn't want to hear what he was being told.
