It's been a fun filled week. It started off with my first official sub job. I worked a 6th grade class. I have always thought elementary teachers worked harder than high school teachers and i confirmed that with this sub session. I enjoyed it and the students were good and needily helpful.
The next item was our daughter moving off to college. If that doesn't shake you a bit. All the stereotypical pictures rolled through my mind of a young girl and her first day of school, fast forwarded to leaving for a school hours away. Great adventure handed out all around on this event.
My part time job in the park has the title of Cave Utility. Sunday lived up to that description. I opened gates, picked trash from the parking lot; sold stuffed bats; talked with people from San Francisco, North Carolina, Virginia; and relocated a rattlesnake. The little guy is now in his new area away from the cave entrance and people, but not before coming towards me when I first set him free and not without trying to escape from the snake pole as I whisked him away to his new home.
And not to be forgotten on the list of events this week is coming home to the enthusiastic greetings of family and a clogged sewer line. Oh, the joys of living in an older house.
